Hard Drive Destruction

Hard drives which will not be reused are shredded and become part of the overall recycling stream. Sims offers hard drive destruction at our customers' locations, or at Sims recycling centers. Witnessed destruction can be accommodated onsite or via webcam at our recycling facilities.

Secure Physical Destruction of Hard Drive

Any data bearing media which our customers desire not to be remarketed or cannot be properly eradicated, is physically destroyed. Sims performs the physical destruction through very sophisticated in-plant shredder systems. As part of the shredding process, the different metals and metal bearing components are separated making it impossible to reconstruct the media or data.

State of the art high capacity shredders are utilized for the destruction of hard drives when DOD compliant data security is required.

Sims will travel to our customers'location to offer onsite and witnessed destruction of hard drives, for clients who need the additonal confirmation of destruction.

On-Site Data Destruction

As with our degaussing equipment, we have portable machines for hard drive destruction. These portable machines allow us to offer onsite services at customers' facilities, or witnessed destruction, for clients who want an added layer of proof of destruction and a contained chain of custody.

Certificates of Destruction can be provided, whether plant recycling, on-site destruction, or witnessed destruction is used.

Witnessed Destruction

Some situations require that customers physically witness the destruction of the electronic media. Sims Recycling Solutions can accommodate this witnessed destruction by hosting the customer at our recycling location providing the physical destruction or by providing a webcam link to witness the destruction over the Internet.
