Our "customer first" approach is important when assets are picked up to develop a seamless interface between Sims and remote pickup locations of our customers.  Our goal is to develop a program that meets the following requirements:

• Efficient and Timely Pickup
• Bar code tags are applied to assets to facilitate accountability during transfer
• Assets are verified against master asset lists
• Data Security - data destruction prior to leaving facility or through complete chain-of-custody reporting
• Proactive communication with customer

Sims Recycling Solutions can arrange for single use conveyance under security seal or provide lockable chests to assure there is no breach of security during the transport of media-containing devices.  Transport is supported by regional Sims fleets with fully-checked staff and GPS tracking, or via local and national freight alliances.

With a dedicated network of carriers that meet every transportation need, we offer customized handling and freight programs plus optimized regional routes that lower your carbon footprint.

Sims has the most facilities in the U.S. and throughout the world than any other electronic recycler. Our facilities are strategically located, allowing us to offer cost effective logistics and secure transportation services for our customers. All equipment is shipped to one of our 13 locations in North America, is processed and verified against make, model, serial number and other information as required by the customer.

In October 2010, Sims Metal Management was recognized as a top performer by the Investor Group on Climate Change for Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI). The CDLI is an important global survey that ranks the transparency of companies as they report and manage carbon emissions.  It reflects best practices in terms of corporate governance in measuring greenhouse gas emissions.
